Georgia L. Foster

WISCONSIN DELLS / PORTAGE  --  Georgia L. Foster, age 87, formerly of Wisconsin Dells, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Georgia was born on December 23, 1926 in Adams County, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Irma (Howard) Tenney.  She had worked for Fischer’s Supper Club, Kahler’s Best Western, and Bailey’s Landing in Wisconsin Dells for many years.  Georgia loved to travel and entertain.  Some of her favorite travels were to Alaska, California, Hawaii, Mexico, Arizona, New Mexico, and Florida.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.  Georgia was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and she liked to go fishing and hunting.

She is survived by her four children, Linda Mattice, Milwaukee, Terry (Steven) Licitar, Hubertus, WI, John (Ashley) Foster, Garland, TX, and Matt (Dawn) Foster, Portage; her granddaughters, Becky (Tim) Schneider, Sheri (Darin) Jones, Debbie (Allen Wegner) Feiner, Tracy Foster-Mattice, Amy Diaz, Summer (Jason) Cave, Morgan Foster, Taylar Foster, Heather (Ritchie) Harrington, Ginger (Cody) McDonald, and Kelsey Foster; ten great-grandchildren;  her sister, Jackie Gebelein, Wisconsin Rapids;  other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Edwin C. “Red” Foster, her son-in-law, George Mattice, and special friend, H.W. Roser.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Spring Grove Cemetery, Wisconsin Dells. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Kilbourn Fire Department or to the Columbia County Humane Society in Georgia’s name.
