Violet M. Cole

WISCONSIN DELLS  --   Violet M. Cole, age 84, died on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Our House in Wisconsin Dells, surrounded by her family. 

Violet was born on May 20, 1929, in Breezewood, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Edgar and Eunice Layton.  She was married to Ezra Cole, he preceded her in death.  Not only was Violet a hard worker but she also enjoyed fishing, camping, driving, reading, and yard work.  She was a very busy woman. Violet loved to play Bingo. She lived life to the fullest and challenged it. 

She is survived by her children, Sandy (Debbie) Cole, Wolf Creek, OR, Eddie Cole, California, LeRoy Cole, California, and Linda Lucas, Springfield, TX; her step-daughter, Wanda Thomas, Portage; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; her brother, Don (Ann) Layton, Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Layton, Pennsylvania; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ezra, her son, Barry, her grandson, Johnny Thomas, her brothers, Richard, Earl, and Dan, and her sister, Pauline.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage with Home Health United Spiritual Counselor Mike Amberg officiating.  Inurnment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activities Fund at Our House Memory Care, 1950 State Rd. 23, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at Our House, and Home Health United Hospice for their wonderful care of Violet.
