Suzanne G. “Sue” Pafford

 

PORTAGE  --  Suzanne G. “Sue” Pafford, age 80, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family and dear friend, Shirley Tierney. 

Sue was born on May 2, 1934 in Portage, the daughter of William “Dietz” and Marion (Rock) Eulberg.  She was married on December 11, 1954 to Donald J. Pafford, Sr. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2001.  Sue had worked at the family business, Eulberg’s Clothing.  She was a very active member of the Portage Curling Club, the Portage Boat Club, Girl Scouts and The Turtles.  Sue was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage.

She is survived by her children, Julie (Rick) Ferguson, Portage, Susan (Ronald) Da Rosa, Wheaton, IL, Don (Dawne) Pafford, Jr., Chicago, Jan Hickey (Dave Johnson), Onalaska, and Mary Pafford, Albuquerque, NM;  four grandchildren, Nick Pafford (fiance’, Julie Bennett), Molly Hickey, Neil Hickey, and Kyle Ferguson;  her brothers, Dave (Judy) Eulberg, Portage, and Peter Eulberg, Portage;  her sister, Janet (Fred) Ross, Sun Prairie;  nieces, nephews, other near relatives and many dear and special friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Donald David Pafford.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
